S630 DX Distortion

The S630 offers a flavor of distortion that can range from mellow to hard. At first the input audio passes through a low pass filter. The LP knob controls the cutoff. Distortion is then applied. The intensity of which can be controlled with the Amount knob. The audio then passes through a band pass filter with cutoff Freq knob/CV and resonance Res knob/CV. The Gain knob/CV controls the final amplification.

 

Note here that if your input is not stereo. It’s recommended that you use only the Left/Mono input for better CPU usage.

 

Technical details:

This module uses external DirectX technology. As such, it incurs a 32 sample delay/latency (around 0.7 ms). This might seem like a very negligible delay but just keep it mind because if you stack many many multiple S630s in series, this delay can build up. Note that all other SoloRack modules incur only a 1 sample delay.

 

Also this module is not the best at voltage control, although it has features for it. This is again because it uses DirectX.
