Product Description
(This module is included in the System B)
A a voltage controlled delay module. That can be clocked (tempo synced) using the Clock in. The maximum delay time is 2 seconds. The minimum delay time is 1 sample*. The time can be modulated using both the time knob and CV which are added. These time controllers are designed to produce smooth results. The amount of feedback can be either manually dialed or modulated through CV. A Wet and try knob is also provided.
The Tame/+1st/Wild switch mainly controls the way Time CV operates. In Tame mode the Tim knob attenuator will have a steeply curved exponential response**. This gives finer/easier control over the perceived depth of the modulation no matter what main Time knob is set to. +1st mode is exactly the same as Tame mode but also forces the first echo reflection to occur no matter what the feedback knob/CV amount is. In Wild mode, the depth of the tim CV is dependent on the main Time knob, this gives radical/wild results specially on higher rate of CV which can lead to total chaos if you go extreme.
Like most SoloRack modules that can amplify the input, the S602 clips at +12dbFS. A clipping LED is provided. Notice that clipping can cause distortion and in the worst case, aliasing. It is best practice to patch and tune things in a none clipping manner. Unless of-course you really like the clipping effects and artifacts, which is possible in some situation. To prevent clipping, lower the input levels. If you can’t get enough volume/gain without causing the module to clip. Then leave it low (without clipping) then amplify the audio latter after the module. For example at the output module using the SA02 or SA05.
*For say 44.1Khz sampling rate, a 1 sample time is 1/44100 of a second. This is when NO oversampling is used. Higher oversampling in SoloRack will lead to even lower minimum 1 sample time.
** Exponential is approximated
