S313InternetRadio

S313 Internet Radio

Product Description

Note: This module is NOT considered sold, but given for FREE for System B owners

Internet radio stations are public online services/servers that exist all around the world and constantly stream audio content. There are hundreds of them. Just google for “Internet Radio”. The S313 can connect and stream audio from these stations. It supports both low and high sample rates.

The station digital display selects the station number. There is a On/Off switch. The Copy URL button copies the URL (link) of the currently selected station to the OS clipboard. So you can use it on other radio players/apps. The Paste URL will obviously paste a URL (link) from the clipboard to the currently selected station (which deletes the existing one). This way you can bring in new stations to the module. These URLs usually end with the extension .pls or .m3u. But not always. They can be any thing. Google for them and you’ll easily find many out there. We’ve already put a default selection to start with.

Remove URL will delete the existing one. Move Up and Move Down are used to easily change the station number (it will not replace/delete the other stations, only move them in the opposite direction).

There is a display for the station name, web URL, sample rate and name of the program or tack currently playing.

Technical details

Most stations stream audio at either 44.1Khz or 22Khz. The display will show this. However, some stations stream at higher rates of 48Khz, 96Khz or even 192Khz. The S313 can play all. However, playing higher rates will not give the highest intended quality unless you make sure the DAW or oversampling rate in SoloRack is equal or higher than the station rate. For example, if the station is streaming at 96Khz. You need to either set your DAW to 96Khz or higher. Or set your DAW to say 44.1Khz then set SoloRack oversampling to X4 or higher (the internal sampling rate will be 44.1X4 = 176.4Khz which is higher than 96Khz).
