The S304 VCO (Swift Oscillator) is a CPU lite, dual saw (super saw), dual square, detunable VCO that is meant to produce fat (i.e harmonically rich) sounds easily. The large tune knob has a high visual resolution and a smoother slew which is suitable to accomplish the very wide range of 13 octaves all in a single knob turn. The small detune knob has a one octave range, and is meant to detune ONE of the dual saws (and squares) waves to get a unison type of sound.

 

Multiple S304 can be stacked together to create huge and unheard of unison sounds. This is done by connecting the DTN out of one module to the CV in of another, and then mixing the outputs of all VCOs. The DTN out gives CV in + 2 x detune knob. The large tune knob works independently, affecting only the final VCOs pitch without affecting the DTN out.

 

The S304 also features linear through zero FM. As opposed to the S310 which features exponential FM. Because of the through zero feature, the frequency can go to negative values which would result in the waveforms being flipped over.
