Product Description
(This module is included in the System B)
The S201 is a 12db low pass filter based on a sallen-key topology. The design is meant to produce very clean results. Yet it can still be mildly overdriven at high gain input. It features manual and voltage control of both cutoff and resonance. The cutoff frequency can range from 0Hz to about 21khz. The resonance is designed to go very high up to but not reaching self resonation to avoid distortion to always get a clean response.
The cutoff has two patch points inputs. One labeled Cut CV and the other is Frq CV. Cut CV is meant for key tracking. So it makes sense to connect it to note output (0.1V/oct) like from a MIDI to CV module or from a sequencer. The Frq CV is meant for modulation and has an attenuator knob attached to it.
Due to its low CPU footprint and simple design, this filter can be used as a building block to create more complex filters by stacking multiple modules in parallel or in series, or a combination of both.
