The SD06 is a MIDI merger that simply receives MIDI messages from 8 multiple inputs and serializes them into a single output.

Since multiple messages can not be mixed into one message. They have to be temporarily buffered in memory and sent sequentially. If the total rate at which MIDI messages are received is higher than what the output can send, then messages will accumulate in memory leading to latency. The SD06 allows a maximum of 6ms of latency before it starts to drop messages. Any drops will be indicated by a provided LED. Basically, you should not allow drops to happen at all. If it happens, you should lower the MIDI generation rate at the source modules (Or what ever MIDI source you have).

An All Off button is provided that will send all off notes messages on all channels to silence any hanging notes. This button will also dump all currently accumulated MIDI messages in the memory buffer. This will help after drops happen.
